Local watchlists and preferences
Watchlists, list order, preferences, and downloaded quote, chart and news caches are stored in the app’s private device storage. The app does not upload the local watchlist database as a file. Requests for data do reveal requested symbols and search keywords to the market-data API. There is no separate Pineapple registration or sign-in. Device authorization and purchase verification are distinct from a user account.
Market data, news and network requests
Stock connects to a Pineapple-operated API hosted on Microsoft Azure to retrieve market information and news. Requests may include requested symbols, search terms, time ranges and device-session authorization. Network services receive technical information needed to handle requests, including IP addresses and request timing, and may retain operational or security logs. We do not promise that a provider’s network logs contain no personal information.
The API uses market-data and news sources to fulfil requests. Loading news thumbnails connects to the publisher’s image provider. Opening a news article uses your browser and the source website, which have their own cookie and privacy practices. Market information may be delayed or unavailable; Stock does not provide trading or investment advice.
Advertising
The free version uses Google advertising after applicable privacy choices. Google services may process IP addresses, approximate IP-derived location, advertising and device identifiers, app and ad interactions, and SDK diagnostic data for ad delivery, measurement and fraud prevention. Practices vary with region, consent and device settings. Required privacy choices can be revisited in the app’s Settings. Pro does not request in-app ads. No separate behavioral analytics SDK is added by Stock.

Purchases and device authorization
Google Play handles payment for Pineapple Pro. The app and protected Azure services process purchase tokens, product and package details, purchase status, and device associations to verify ownership, deliver Pro, restore purchases and detect refunded or revoked purchases. These records are persisted in protected purchase storage; they are not solely processed in memory. Device-session credentials support authenticated API access. Pineapple does not receive your payment card details.
Purchases are app-specific and are not shared with Level or Compass. Clearing the app does not automatically erase server-side verification or purchase records. There is no automatic self-service deletion of all server-side purchase records. Contact us for a request concerning these records; information needed for fraud prevention, legal obligations or purchase verification may need to be retained. No fixed retention period is promised here where the implementation has not established one.
Local backup and restore
Pro lets you export watchlists and selected preferences through Android’s system file picker, and restore them after validation and confirmation. Exported files do not include identity credentials, purchase records or advertising identifiers. You control the chosen file destination, which may be a cloud provider exposed by the system picker; that provider’s privacy rules apply. Keep exported files private and delete copies you no longer need. Restoring a file does not restore a purchase and does not send the backup to a Pineapple backup service.
Your controls
You can remove watchlist entries, clear caches in the app, and clear app storage or uninstall in Android settings. Uninstalling or clearing storage can lose local data; your separately exported files remain until you remove them. Manage advertising identifiers in Android settings and purchases through Google Play. Contact us regarding server-side privacy requests. We cannot recover unexported local watchlists from your device.
Support, providers and security
Contacting support opens your mail app; Stock does not send an email automatically or attach its database, purchase tokens or diagnostic files. Information you choose to send is processed to answer your request. Please avoid payment details, tokens and sensitive watchlist information.
Microsoft Azure, Google, market-data services, image providers and websites you choose to open may process data outside your country under their own practices. See Microsoft’s Privacy Statement and the Google policy above. App-private storage, authenticated API requests and protected server storage help safeguard data, but no transmission or storage method guarantees complete security. Provider retention is governed by the relevant provider; deleting local app data does not delete their records.
Changes and contact
